A success story...

In July 2006 less than five percent of the eligible Texas voters knew who Democratic U.S. Senatorial Candidate Barbara Ann Radnofsky was. They all knew current Senator Kay Bailey Huchison. The task was to reach all of Texas on a very small budget and gain name recognition.

The name Radnofsky was both difficult to spell and say. The campaign did not have the funds required to make Radnofsky a household name before election day. The team at Scott Radio went to work. The solution was the emphasis of the candidates first name. Barbara Ann.

The first script test said it all. The voting demographic who reviewed the radio commercials commented that they could not get the song Barbara Ann out of their head. We did not use the song. All we said at the conclusion of the commercials in a staccato voice was the simple phrase, "soon all of Texas will be singing Bar, Bar, Bar, Bar, Barbara Ann".

It worked. On November 7th 2006 Barbara Ann received over 1.5 million votes. Short of victory, but many agree, with a little more time and money, it would have been a different outcome.
